The Basketball Scholarship

To be awarded an athletic scholarship, the recipient must have completed high school with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. and meet the physical qualifications for basketball players. If an applicant does not have the minimum GPA they can enroll in our College Prep program.

Successful Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 25 and is open to Bahamians as well as non-Bahamians who has attended high school in The Bahamas, and displays outstanding basketball prowess, in the position he or she plays should apply for this scholarship.

Applications are due on or before the Fourth Wednesday of June each year for consideration for the Fall Trimester.

Applications are reviewed and interviewed by a selection committee which examines the applicant’s academic, leadership, physical qualifications, looks for evidence of team skills and extra-curricular involvement as well as recommendations from high school teacher’s/guidance counsellors, basketball coach or community leader. Selected applicants are invited to campus for an interview after which recommendations are forwarded to the President for final approval.


Athletic Scholarships are partial tuition grants. The scholarship is renewable annually for up to two years as long as athletic scholars maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0, while contributing practically to the success of the team.

Specifically, scholars:

  • Receive an athletic scholarship of up to 70% of tuition fees per trimester to cover tuition and related Cyber Tech Career College expenses.
  • Are mentored by the Cyber Tech Career College team coach.
  • Attend regular team practice, maintains academic standards and is a role model to other team members.
  • If the athlete has a GPA below 2.0, the student must enroll in our College Prep program.

OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS MAY BE HAND DELIVERED OR EMAILED BY A GUIDANCE COUNSELLOR TO CYBER TECH CAREER COLLEGE.

Scholarship Checklist

The following documents are needed in order to successfully submit an application.

The documents needed are as follows:

  • The completed Scholarship Application Form.
  • Applicant must be a registered student of Cyber Tech Career College before the Early Registration Period ends and must have an acceptance letter from CTCC.
  • Copy of any one of these I.D (Drivers License, National Insurance Card, Passport).
  • One passport size photo attached to the application.
  • Current GPA and most recent High School report.
  • Two Character References from a non-family member. Preferably from a current or past employer, high school teacher, pastor or community leader
  • Copy of High School Transcript.
  • Copies of Academic Qualifications - High School Diploma/GED, Certificates (BJC, BGCSE, SAT, ACT, CXC’s AP, College Prep, Diplomas, Degrees).
  • Copies of extra-curricular awards and certificates.
  • If a student does not have the required BGCSEs or equivalent, they can enroll in our College Prep Program.
  • Clean Police Record, no more than six months old.
  • Cyber Tech Career College Counselor interview.
